We have started living our dream 🙂

Its been years we were sitting on the fence thinking when will the time come when we leave everything and just travel.

Well there is never a right time and we should have started long back, but its never too late. We start Season 1 of our motorcycle road trip by covering the coastline of the Indian peninsula. We start from Mumbai (Maharashtra), go south along the coast till Kanyakumari (Tamil Nadu) and then north towards Puri (Odisha). This will be a 5000+ kms journey and will span across 6 states and one union territory.

To be honest, we are just testing ourselves with this trip in this season. When we bought Maxx (Suzuki VStorm 250 SX) in 2022 the intention was to start going on bike rides again. But this never happened due to our busy work schedules. The maximum distance to and fro that we ever covered on Maxx was some 200 odd kilometers on a weekend ride to our favourite breakfast place towards the Gujarat border.

We are in our mid 40’s and the only fitness related activity we have done is go for our morning walks. So you see, we arn’t actually sure if we are fit enough to take on such a long ride. So if at all we feel its no longer our cup of tea we will ride back.

For this very reason we planned not to take difficult terrains and start the season by riding on tarmac. We need to get accustomed to a fully loaded motorcycle with the saddle bags, our new riding gears and even with the audio/video setup for recording the journey. Most importantly we need to learn video editing as none of us have ever edited any video on a laptop earlier.

Honestly this is our second attempt to vlogging, the first one, a half hearted one was when we did a trip to Hampi. The only vlogging gear we had was a mobile holder and when we did take it out to record ourself it felt very ackward and we put it back never to take it out again.

So this time we do have a DJI Action Camera, an Insta360 X4, microphones and our phones for video recording. Out of us two Avinash is a complete introvert and absolutely camera shy but he is the tech guy and will take care of the equipments, data transfers, maintain the motorcycle and of course ride it too. Priyanka will be the route planner, navigator, anchor, take care of our accomodations as we go and of course do the video editing.

This season will be a learning season for us and if we are successful there will be more seasons to follow with more challenging terrains and more challenging weather conditions.
