Day 2 is Harihareshwar to Ganpatipule and today we have three river crossings i.e. three jetties to catch.

Bagmandla – Vesvi Jetty

Within 5 kms from Harihareshwar is the Bagmandla jetty terminal which will get you to Vesvi. This again is a very short duration jetty, I think within 15 minutes. The charges for this jetty ride is again 85 for a motorcycle and two passengers.

Once we reached Vesvi, we put on our map and set the destination to Ganpatipule. Now Google maps will always show the fastest route by default and the route shown for Ganpatipule was an internal route and was not touching the coast, so we added Velas, Kelshi and other coastal (beach) as a stops in between so we stick to the coast.

Now this was a long journey ahead of about 6 hours to Ganpatipule. Priyanka was already not feeling well and it got only worse as we crossed Kelshi. She needed rest, so we decided to stop riding for the day at Murud beach which was near Dapoli. The next morning Priyanka felt better and we decided to head towards Ganpatipule. The next we had to catch was at Dabhol which was about 40kms.

Dabhol – Dhopave Jetty

This again was a short duration Jetty ride, under 15 minutes and the charges were again 85 for a motorcycle and two passengers. Once we reached Dhopave it was a 50kms ride to the next Jetty point which was Tawsal, our last jetty for the day.

From Dhopave the next Jetty was from Tawsal, which was again a 50 kms ride. We enjoyed this stretch as it was lush green with lots of betel nut plantations along the way.

Tawsal – Jaigad Jetty

Now this was the most crowded Jetty we ever took. Among the fully packed cars and motorcycles there were about 4 full sized buses. Also this was the longest jetty ride we had so far, not too long but longer that the 5-10 minutes rides. As we reach closer to Jaigad terminal we get to know about the Jaigad fort and the Jindal steel factory on the other side.

This jetty cost us 110.

Our final destination for the day, Ganpatipule was only 20 kms from Jaigad. We visited the famous Ganesh temple here and then the Prachin Konkan museum (entry ticket 150 for two people with guide). We also had our favorite ukdiche modak here.
